WEEK ONE WOOHOO !!!!
Wow guys I can't believe I've been in Granada for a week now. Well tomorrow it will have been a week but still this is crazy. I have been loving it so much, the city is so beautiful. I'll just walk you guys through what I've been doing recently! Starting off with landing in the airport, everything was so awesome and I was so excited until our bags never came out of the baggage claim. And that was a really sad surprise. None of our checked bags made it with us to Granada, so all I had was a carry on full of shoes. Fast forward to today and I still don't have my suitcase. But that's totally ok I've been doing good. Anyways I got to my host home in Granada at about 7:30 on Monday and I had some dinner, talked with my host mom Begoña and then I went to bed. Begoña is super awesome and very kind and I love living here, I'll put a picture of my room and of the view. The next day on Tuesday we had orientation with AIFS, a tour of the city and a lunch of tapas which was so good. I live in the city center so everything is very close to the apartment. On Tuesday afternoon I went to the stores to get some clothes, because I had pretty much nothing, but I got some good things and it was on sale. Wednesday was my first day of class, woohoo! I am in the level four class and there are 9 of us. Every day of the week for the first four weeks we are here, we have 4 hours of intensive spanish class broken into 2 hour segments with 2 different teachers. It has been so fun, I love going to class. Usually after class, I walk home to have lunch and then I go out to walk around the city. There is so much to see and do here. Some of my favorite places I have walked to is the Albaicín district which has a great view of the Alhambra, I've walked around some of the shop streets with leather shops and rugs and all kinds of things and I have also walked by quite a few really pretty cathedrals. I'll include pictures of all of that. My afternoons and evenings have been pretty chill this week. On Friday I went with a few friends from the program and the school to get tapas for dinner and that was so good. If you don't know what tapas are, it's when you order a drink at a restaurant or bar and they bring you a small to medium portion of food for free. All the tapas are so good and you never know what you're gonna get. On Saturday I went with the other three AIFS students to tour the Alhambra, which is like a palace/fortress/mini town at the top of the city. And it was incredible. There's so much history there and so many things to see and learn, I loved it so much. That's pretty much all I've done this week, I am still a little tired from the big time change but when I'm totally used to it I'm gonna go explore a lot more. I hope you enjoyed my blog! Thanks for reading!
