Week four!
Yay it's week four! This week was super awesome, maybe the best one yet. I spent must of Sunday and Monday studying for my finals for the intensive program. Monday was our last real day of intensive class and it was so sad because I loved my teacher and I had so much fun these past three weeks. Tuesday was final exam day and then we were off of school for the week! Brenna Anda and I had planned a trip for Paris from Wednesday to Sunday, today, so at 3:00am I woke up, and then we met up to take a taxi and then we went to the bus station to catch our 5am bus to Malaga. Our flight wasn't until 10ish so we had some time to chill in the airport. That turned out to be a good thing because they overbooked our flight and Anda almost didn't make it on, but thank goodness she got on at the very end of boarding. We landed in Paris and then took the metro straight to the hostel we were staying at. It was kind of gross and rainy that afternoon so we went to a store close to the hostel and got supplies to make little sandwiches inside for dinner. Later that night we walked 6 miles to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle which was totally worth it. On Thursday we woke up and headed to a cafe near the Eiffel Tower to have some coffee and a croissant and it was delicious. From the cafe we walked to the arc de triumph where we walked up a ton of stairs to the top where there is a beautiful view of Paris. Then we walked from the arc to the Notre Dame which was so beautiful. We got to walk around inside and there are so many cool paintings and sculptures in there. After the Notre Dame we crossed the street to get a coffee at Shakespeare and Co. From there we went to the Concierge which was a former courthouse and prison during the revolution, so that was cool. From there we took the metro to the hostel and later that night we went to dinner and it was amazing. We tried escargo (snails) and I had steak with fries, green beans and chocolate mousse. Yum. On Friday I woke up kinda early so i decided to take the metro to Trocadero. I also went to Carette, the little cafe with the hot chocolate and whipped cream and that was pretty good. The Trocadero was so beautiful and there weren't a ton of people out. From there I walked to meet Brenna and Anda at the Lourve where we had tickets for 12. Man it was so cool, the Lourve is so huge we probably only saw 20% of it and we were there for 2 1/2 hours. Ofc we saw the Mona Lisa and she was stunning. I really loved the hall of statues and sculptures. After the Lourve it was raining so we walked across the Seine to the Musée de Orsay where we saw some Van Gough and some Monet and a polar bear statue. I loved it in there. From there we took the metro back to the hostel and waited out the rain a little bit. It was yucky all that night so we went to the store and did another makeshift dinner at the hostel. On Saturday we woke up and got croissants and coffee at a cute bakery near the hostel. From there we walked to Shakespeare and Co again to go to the bookstore that was closed the other day. After the bookstore we went to a little French market and got these amazing sandwiches, they were incredible. We then got on the train out to the Palace of Versailles. It was so beautiful there, every room was decorated beautifully with all these painting and designs and it was crazy. And the hall of mirrors was stunning. After walking through there we got some macarons and ate them in the gardens of the palace which are huge. After we finished the macaroons we raced to the train station to catch the train back into the city. We took the train and metro all the way to the Sacre Cœur Basilica which is the highest point in Paris. We watched the sunset up there and it was gorgeous. We walked around the neighborhood nearby called Monemarte and then got French McDonald's for dinner. Oops. After chilling at the hostel and packing up our bags, we went to a cute cocktail bar for our last night in Paris. This morning we woke up at 3:50am and traveled all morning to get back to Granada. I had fun in Paris but I'm so glad to be back here! Tomorrow is our first day of real school so I'm super excited about that! That is pretty much all for this week, it was a pretty epic and amazing and fun week. Miss y'all so much!!
