Week nine!
Woohoo week nine! This week was actually very chill and not much happened at all. I only got 6 pictures from what I did this week, I kept forgetting to document. Monday was a good day, I just went to my three classes, then home for lunch and after a short nap, I took a walk through the Albaicín and watched the sunset. It was a lovely day. On Tuesday I went to my classes and then back home for lunch and chill time, and then I met up with Grace and Abby and we did some work in a cute little coffee shop. Then I went to dinner at a yummy burger place and had a much-needed smash burger, it was delicious. After the burger, Abby and I met up with other people from our program and we went to an arab bath. It was the best thing ever. A traditional arab bath has three different pools/rooms with cold, medium, and hot water and aside from just cleansing, back in the day, they were also used as public spaces for negotiating, politics, and exercise. There is still one original hammam in Granada that is from the 11th century, so that one is no longer in use but there are a few recreations in the city that you can visit to get the full experience. We got to relax in the hot pool, do cold plunges in the cold water, drink free tea and we also got massages. It was an awesome Tuesday evening. I couldn't take pictures in there but I included some from Google. On Wednesday I went to my classes again, and then in the afternoon, we played volleyball and then watched Anda and Molly play some soccer. For dinner, Anda, Brenna, and I got nachos and they were so so good. I love that Mexican restaurant. After dinner, we met up with the rest of our friends at a bar that was playing the Barcelona soccer game (I don't know who they were playing) so we went to watch that and then I went to bed. Thursday I went to my classes and then home for lunch and honestly, I don't remember what I did that afternoon, but if I were to guess I would say I went on a walk and maybe got a coffee. This Friday we had class, which we usually don't on Fridays, so as a push to get my day going I went to a coffee shop before school to finish my homework and get ready for the day. I went to my classes and they were honestly so fun. One of my teachers brought his juggling stuff and juggled for us at the end of class. He was actually really good at it, he was doing 5 at a time and also doing tricks. Then in my grammar class, we played Kahoot so that was super fun too. That night Anda, Molly, and I had a dinner picnic in the Albaicín which was fun because the Alhambra was all lit up for nighttime. After that, we met up with some of our other friends for the night which was super fun. The next day we met up for a little coffee and then we went on a walk together. The rest of Saturday I was pretty lazy, and honestly today too. It has been super gross rainy weather so I can't go sit outside or anything. Today I cleaned up my room did some homework and went on a walk and now I'm blogging! So overall this week was pretty slow, nothing too crazy happened. But I was glad to have a weekend here because my next few weeks are gonna be super packed full of fun activities. Only one week till my family comes! I can't wait it is gonna be awesome! Well, that's all I have, miss you guys so much!
